Black Lace Agate is a form of chalcedony that occurs in nodular masses in rocks such as volcanic lavas. Inside, agate reveals a wide variety of colors and patterns and distinct banding that distinguishes it from other types of chalcedony. Individual agates are named according to their color or their source location.
